How Long Does it Take to Remodel a Home?

How long will your home project take from design to construction to completion? Great question! Although it is difficult to predict without knowing your goals and desired scope, we have compiled a quick guide to help give you a ballpark idea of what to expect. The timeline is one of the most uncertain parts of a project, but it is important to establish it before starting for realistic expectations, smooth phases & good results

Phase 1: Planning
It begins with a Discovery Call, a complimentary 20-minute phone session to review the basic details of your project. I’ll get to know you and your style as we review preliminary design ideas. This is the perfect time for you to tell me your thoughts and for us to gather any additional information to ensure I’m a good fit for your project before moving forward. How Long It Can Take: We’ll start with an in-depth discussion regarding your design, style preferences, functional needs, and lifestyle. I approach design in a way that is custom fit for you and your family. Using detailed measurements, notes, and photos, we’ll begin a preliminary design phase that includes budget planning, space planning, and contractor walkthroughs. A conceptual design will be presented along with an expense spreadsheet.

Phase 2: Procurement
Once you have approved the proposal, I’ll get to work creating the final plans and elevations necessary for the project, I’ll select all products and materials specific to your design preferences and functional needs and create a comprehensive design plan that addresses every aspect of your space.

Phase 3: Construction
We will begin ordering all products and materials. We will track all orders and inspect items as they arrive. If applicable, construction will begin, and you will receive detailed progress updates weekly. Furniture will go to our white glove concierge, who will inspect and store any large freight items until they are ready to be delivered.

Phase 4: Installation
Once construction has finished where applicable and all the furnishings have arrived, we will schedule an installation day. Our concierge will deliver and place all the furniture according to our specifications. All that’s left for you to do is to walk in the door and start enjoying your renewed space created just for you.
